my september outfit diary
red, tall boots, dark denim, ribbons

red: an obvious colour for fall dressing
My strawberry girl summer has slowly transitioned to fall. A pop of red has been my go-to when I want to add some colour to my outfit, and it’s so easily thriftable!

mexico 66's: go-to shoe
I walked over 20,000 steps a day in my Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers. Even though both colours are bold, they feel like neutrals to me.

brown: latte love
Rich chocolate brown tones is a staple for my fall wardrobe. This year, I am gravitating towards the colour in equally rich textures like suede, faux fur and leather. It also looks incredible with gold details.

dark denim: feels so polished
Veering away from distressed and light wash denim and swapping it out with dark, stiff denim. Make sure to give each piece a wash in vinegar + detergent before wearing to avoid colour transfer.

riding boots
Knee-high black boots will forever be in my capsule wardrobe. This fall I’ve been teaming them up with brown – which I wouldn’t usually love but for some reason works??

denim maxi skirt: reformation
This skirt from reformation has an assymterical button fly, and a raw hem that is easy to cut to your preferred length. I see myself wearing it with chunky sweaters, baseball caps and boots this fall.

pointy heels
These Prada mules (shown in a) may be my thrift find of the year. I got them for $39, and took them to my cobbler to clean them up and replace the heel cap. It was such an inexpensive fix and they feel good as new.

hair ribbons
GUTS has inspired me to wear ribbons in my hair. Satin double faced ribbon to be exact. Use a clear elastic to secure hair then tie the ribbon over it in a full bow.
