Hey guys! I’m back today with a really fun DIY – this GIANT BLANKET. I’ve been making a few of these this past month and I wanted to share a bit of the experience with you. I filmed the whole process which you can see in my Youtube video below.
What You’ll Need:
Loops and Threads Free Spirit Yarn (I found this particular type to be the best) – it took about 5 bundles to create a modest living room throw, 9 of them to create a blanket to drape over my Queen sized bed. I got my yarn at Michael’s.
25mm or 35 mm crochet hook (looks questionable but very helpful!)
An afternoon, some Netflix (takes about 4-6 hours depending on the size of your blanket!)
Some Tips:
– Try your best to keep the tension the same. The more even, the better!
– The yarn is quite forgiving, so hiding knots its quite easy
– Always buy more skeins than you think you’ll need – you can always return the unopened ones later.
– To get the most out of your yarn – double stitch crochet (like I showed in the video) is the way to go!

And there you have it, how to crochet a GIANT blanket – let me know if you decide to try this!
Love Always,
Rach
