Natural Bath & Skincare Haul

Since putting more of my focus on my wellness, I have a newfound love of researching natural beauty products. If you’ve read my personal essay on why I’m revamping my beauty routine, you already know that I’m trying to make the best choices for myself on all things makeup and skin.

And this leads me to my latest haul! I was running really low on everything in my shower, as well as all my skin products, so this haul was much needed. My friend Sam recommended the site Beautypedia to me last week, and I am HOOKED. It has every product out there plus an expert review, which helped me a ton when trying to choose products that were on the more natural side.

I’ve only tried these products a few times, but I’m quite happy with them so far. I can’t give a full review just yet, but I will chat a little as to why I chose each one! Let’s do this (from left to right):

1. Drunk Elephant JuJu Bar:
I chose this one mainly because of how mild it is, plus it had outstanding reviews on Beautypedia! I was always intrigued by the brand and I felt that this may be a good choice for me, because of it’s PH balance and the fine exfoliant in it. I’ve only used it once so far, and it feels really gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin.

2. Drunk Elephant La La Retro Whipped Cream:
This pick actually didn’t come from Beautypedia, I actually was recommended this from another friend. I really like it’s packaging, as it has an air-tight anti-bacterial pump that gives you the right amount each time. It was a big splurge for me, but I think that investing in my skin will be a wise choice in the long run.

3. Honest Organic Body Oil:
My skin is pretty dry all year round, so this product was quite fitting for me. I really wanted to try Honest Co. for a really long time, and have heard great things! Currently, I’m using it while I’m still in the shower after I wash, and it leaves me soft without feeling too oily. It also absorbs really quickly!

4. Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil:
I’ve been using my mom’s Shu Uemura cleansing oil for a while, and I find it really effective for makeup removal. It was important for me to find one that was natural, so Burt’s Bees it was! It’s kind of overwhelmingly fragrant, but it goes away after you rinse it off. It also doesn’t turn into a milkly substance when on the face like other cleansers, and you don’t need a ton of product for it to be effective. I’ve yet to put it through the real test yet: my waterproof mascara – so I’ll update when I do!

5. Honest Face + Body Lotion
The lotion is fragrance free, and also organic. I used the combination of the body oil and the body lotion, and I’ve noticed my arms (which are usually super dry) are feeling a bit softer now.

6. Honest Shampoo + Body Wash (Apricot Kiss)
I really hate the smell of this, and I regret not reading about the reviews before I chose the scent. I can get past it though, as it washes off pretty much immediately with none of it lingering. It really gives me peace of mind knowing that my shower products are free of any harsh chemicals and detergents!

What are your natural skincare go-tos? I’d love to hear! I’m still trying a bunch of things, and can’t wait to nail my skin and body regimen. Until next time!
Love Always,
