Hi everyone! Long time no blog… Been so busy with SHOP SPENNY that I’ve been neglecting my blog/youtube for quite a bit of time. But I’m back! And hopefully here to stay.
I went to New York City for the first time earlier this month and it truly blew my mind. The weather was beautiful, and we (Dylan and I) had such a great time. I’m notoriously known for being horrible at packing: like a lot of people, I can’t seem to edit down what I want to bring. Especially for a fashion capital like New York, I found it really hard to pack light because I wanted options for each day. I ended up packing a ton of light t-shirts, and denim shorts.
What I really ended up wearing a lot were light, long sleeve tops. They were cool enough to walk around during the day but still gave me the coverage I wanted when it got chillier at night. I somehow also ended up wearing all the shoes that I brought there (I brought FIVE pairs of shoes guys), which actually made me quite proud of myself because it justified my overpacking. I really didn’t need to bring both my black and white converse, but hey, it’s New York. For those of you who already follow me on the ‘gram, yes I have posted most of these photos already. As I write this, I’m realizing that most of the clothes that I brought to New York were actually quite inexpensive, and easy to find. My style mantra is always try to mix pieces together that are high and low. With the right basics put together, anything can look like a million bucks.
The Highline!
DETAILS:
Overalls: Hollister co.
White T-shirt: Garage
Bag: Zadig & Voltaire
Shoes: Converse
For whatever reason, I desperately wanted to wear overalls this trip. What was once a farmer go-to is surprisingly a cute and casual piece for on-the-go. I paired it with a white tee and sneakers! Perfect for taking the highline.
At the YOTEL
The only clothing item that I bought on this trip was this pajama set. Unfortunately, I can’t find the tank top and I think I left it in my hotel room. 🙁
DETAILS:
Pajama Set: Forever 21

Greenwich Village
DETAILS:
Top: Hollister Co.
Denim Skirt: Bluenotes
Shoes: Converse
Ray Ban “Flash” Sunglasses in gold/blue
I borrowed this plaid top from my sister, and I love it! Super easy to wear and looks great dressed up or down. I’ve also been obsessed with denim skirts and I found this one for 10$. The bag that I brought everywhere was my Zadig and Voltaire mini duffel, it’s a great size and fit everything I needed to explore the city with (selfie stick included).
In the garden at MOMA

I opted to not bring a heel or a wedge, and instead brought these great lace-up sandals from TopShop. They were dressy enough for night-time, and ultra comfortable. Especially because we took the subway everywhere.
