Hello my luvv-ly readers!
Lemme start out with the outfit I wore today:
– OCCASION: Auntie S’s BBQ
What I’m Wearing:
-cardigan – Anthropologie
-High waisted shorts
– tank – Abercrombie & Fitch
– White Low-Top Converse
– Straw Fedora – F21 (men’s)
– Patent Leather Purse: Coach
It was a good, relaxed outfit which I was quite comfortable in. I tried to mix textures & layers as well. I’m just happy I can finally wear my cutoffs!
The Distillery District
Today, I went down to the Distillery along with my sister (Syd), grammy & aunt. Even though I have lived in Toronto all my life, It was actually my first time going down there! It’s a great place, with some of the oldest historic buildings in Toronto. As a matter of fact, it represents the biggest and best-preserved collection of Victorian Industrial Architecture in North America. To read more on it’s history, click the official link here.
Nowadays, the Distillery is a trendy, up & coming community with lots of chic restaurants and stores. One little place in particular that I found quite cool is SOMA – a place which makes chocolates & chocolaty beverages. If you know me, you would know that I’m not exactly the biggest fan of chocolate, so I opted for a simple hot chocolate, not too rich, but still equally as delicious! My sister had the intense chocolate shot – pure, rich chocolate. I had tasted a bit, and for a person with a long time love affair with chocolate – it is pure heaven.
The Distillery’s architecture is absolutely breathtaking – I almost felt like I wasn’t in the city, but actually back in the period where these buildings were popular. This area also had many up & coming artist’s studios, as well as galleries. However, by the time that we arrived in the Distillery district, most of the places were already closed – so I couldn’t find much. Next time I go, I’ll definitely make a note of it to check these places out.
Anyways, I hope to go back to the Distillery soon (when stores are ACTUALLY open!)
